The curtailed ocean salmon season saw many of our patrons concentrating on bottom fishing. Fishing has now turned to fishing the Smith River itself where Chinook salmon may be retained. Some outstanding fish are being caught. Leroy Morrison caught this 49 lbs beauty while fishing the mouth on September 20, 2008. Quite a battle we understand!
