A beautiful steelhead caught by Wayne Lamson during his recent stay with us in mid January here at Salmon Harbor. These "beauties" are common in the Smith River and steelhead in the 18 to 20 lbs. class are not unusual. Wayne was fishing "up river" at Ruby Van Deventer Park. Seen below are a couple additional nice steelhead caught on successive days
Ocean Fishing 2006 With the curtailed summer salmon fishing season on the California and Oregon Coast the fisherman's attention has turned to "bottom fish" . Below are several nice catches of "Reds" and "Ling Cod" caught by Park Owner, Ned Burgess, and his fishing partner, Ken Grissom.
Ned is seen above with a beauty of a "Red Snapper" caught fishing out of Crescent City. The rest of the catch is seen below with some of the smaller Ling Cod and Red Snappers.
Quite a handful. Another nice "Ling Cod" caught by Ken Grissom |
