The rugged coastline between Brookings and Gold Beach to the north offers breathtaking views and unique photographing opportunities. There are variety of developed observation viewpoints with rest room and picnic facilities so be sure to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy this rewarding viewing experience. A couple miles above Brookings is Harris Beach and Bird Island (also known as Goat Island). A few miles north is Twin Rock and the House Rock and Whaleshead viewing areas . A bit further to the north takes you to the tallest bridge in Oregon crossing Thomas Creek. Further up the coast is Lone Ranch.
